BD Live
BD-Live (BD-ROM Profile 2) lets users connect the Blu-ray Disc™ Players to the Internet to download data such as images and subtitles, and to join in quizzes and multi-player interactive games that are linked to bonus movie content contained on Blu-ray discs. This fusion of movie content and the Internet will open the door to countless new possibilities. BD-Live also supports other interactive functions, such as Picture-in-Picture and Audio Mixing.

High Quality Picture
We have given the DMP-BD50 a host of original image-enhancing technologies created by Panasonic. We started with the P4HD image processor, then went a step further by adding Deep Colour compatibility, with 4,096 steps of gradation that provide even smoother, finer-quality images. The DMP-BD50 also provides 1080/24p playback, so you can enjoy the same 24-fps (frames per second) reproduction as the original movie.

High Quality Sound
The DMP-BD50 can reproduce the dynamic and clear sound with integrated decoders for the lossless Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD audio formats, and also can be combined with a 7.1channel amplifier and speakers for full 7.1channel surround sound. The resulting audio quality rivals many studio master systems.

HD Networking
The SD Memory Card slot on the DMP-BD50 makes it easy to link your camcorder or digital still camera by simply inserting an SD Memory Card with the data that you have recorded. The DMP-BD50 also supports VIERA Link, which lets you operate interconnected Panasonic AV equipment with the single remote control of your Panasonic flat-panel TV.
